I wonder if this does not come from the columns of the categories: on the categories in double columns, no worries: one sees under the image the categories AND the last message.
For the simple layout: the image is stretched, the text on the side beug AND we do not see the subfolders, and the last message is "eaten" by the image.

Sorry to ask the question again, but have you seen the problem and found a solution?
Ps: You can also use Frefox in adaptive view (CTRL + Shift + M) to notice the problem.
